Electric boat is definitely in my retirement bucket list to run as a small business. Go to a remote island and run this as a tourist run. I've tried the one in Perth once ( click here), and boy oh boy, can't believe how quiet it is. We EV drivers thought it's nice and quiet with our cars. But with electric boats, it's even better experience. Hearing the water sloshing without engine and without tiring one's muscle is quite an experience.

I get over to south straddy a lot - an electric boat would make a perfect water taxi eco option for the resort - mainland run... but you’d have to have a few batteries ready to swap over for back to back bookings. I haven’t tried one out yet but there’s a hire fleet at mariners cove (main beach Gold Coast): boatcharterservices.com.au/duffy-boat-hire-electric-boats-gold-coast.php

I do surf life saving and race the IRBs (inflatable rescure boats) which is great fun and very exciting but the 2 stroke 25 hp motors are noisy, smelly and very polluting. The top of range electric motor in the link above is just not quite there yet as a replacement for the motors we use but it is getting close. Be fantastic if they could get the top speed to about 40 to 45 km/h and the battery would need give about an hour of full throttle performance and we would have a viable replacement.

How much extra weight does your IRB can take? This one, along with 4-off battery is very close to your requirement (100-kg batteries overall). Hefty price tag though

Getting very close - the existing 2 stroke 25hp motor we use are probably close to 100 kg so that's ok but we get at least a couple hours run time on a full fuel bag with alot of full throttle use. We also need quick acceleration to get through surf which an electric motor should be good at but I think the top speed of this one is a little over 30 km/h whereas we have access to 40 to 50 km/h top speed currently.
