Just had my first registration inspection. Went to my favourite local mechanic instead of all the way to Newcastle. There's no reason why a local mechanic can't do it and it's so much easier and cheaper

That's interesting, we renewed our rego a couple of months back and didn't need an inspection.
Thinking our cars are the same age, why would yours need it and not our?

In NSW cars need an inspection when they are 5 years old so goodness knows why you didn't have to have one. It will be interesting to see what happens when some more come up for registration. Just looked up Service NSW website and found this "Most vehicles won't need an inspection until they are over 5 years old. Your renewal notice will let you know if you need an inspection." They must think mine is more 'over' 5 years than yours

Yeah we had our rego done at the local guy too. Nothing at all special about these cars for rego, or most servicing for that matter...they are just simpler.
