Someone actually announced this some time ago. Today it is official. Wonder how long before it is a reality

Yes I did phoebe, been in discussions for a while, the minister did say it would happen. I know the tender was out many months back, as tritium I understand was tendering for it. Given there is a state election in the next few months, this may give them some green vote. I have to say that Steven Miles has been visibly committed to it for a long time. It will happen as the energy companies have already been advised to provide substantial power to rest stops on the Bruce highway. The completion date from memor was march 2018. Well done I say.
tried to upload the map, but says forum exceeded attachment limit ??

First couple are in, Cairns and Rockhampton. Not sure if the contract has changed but the Rocky one isn't a Veefil. Not sure why the change has happened. They are supposed to roll out all within 6 months, holding breath...

Hi Lesmando, is there any info at that site, as I couldn't see anything beyond the rather vague map?

Waiting to hear back from the ministers office. Have asked for actual locations and estimated online dates. They have said that by calendar year end all will be operational.

The date is a relief. With the election at the end of the month, and the other side promising to build a coal fired power station and ditch the 50% state renewable target, I wouldn't have confidence with the super highway being completed unless the contracts were locked in.

I was checking the QLD quick chargers on the Plugshare map, and found by mistake New Zealand's chargers when zooming out. I'm completely devastated how far behind Australia is.

Have you seen Japan's? There are so many there it's a little overwhelming.

Have you seen Japan's? There are so many there it's a little overwhelming. Yup, but left so far behind Japan doesn't make feel as devastated as NZ. Sorry NZ-ers, no offence , but it's a true compliment to yous!

That's awesome, but the distances between some of the fast chargers are too far apart for us to get to without a top up in between. Anyone here planning to give it a try?

That’s cos people live in apartments in japan and can’t ac slow charge at home. So they have to use the service station charge model
Also special deals from Nissan

Ahh I didn't think to check the complete map, I was just going off the Plugshare entries. Nice! Hope NSW gets something similar.

On the overall map the longest will be 120km between DC chargers, if Nissan do my battery I will be ok A bit of a pity that there is such a big gap between Cooroy on the Sunshine Coast, and the Hamilton charger in Bris. With the BMW and Uni of Qld chargers not that far away from the Hamilton charger, the coverage of the north side of Brisbane has a big gap. And Cooroy is 50 mins drive north of me, so not a fast charger I could use on my way south. Still, good to see the electric highway finally installed after a lot of talk.
