My friend Mark in Melbourne has been hassling me for about 6 months now to sell him our Leaf....and after a bunch of umming and procrastinating we've decided to keep ours for now.
So....anyone selling in Melbourne (or elsewhere I guess), let me know.

Thanks mate....I'll pass that one on too but at first glance the price sounds optimistic....the one on gumtree SA looks more on the money @ $20k
These are holding their value really well which is not really what I expected considering the finite battery life. But on the other hand they are by far the cheapest way to get into a factory EV (yes excluding the imeiv which was even more unloved than Leaf)

Hmmm, not sure I agree that they are holding their value really well, given that the owners would have paid $40-60K for them within the last 2-5 years. My March 2015-bought Leaf now has 50 000km on it, so the resale would be likely to be less than most Leafs listed on Carsales.

Not boasting but at 96k I've probably got one of the lowest value LEAFs around. I think I'd be lucky to get $18k for it but like my Honda I'll probably drive it for as long as I can.
I'd be curious to know what Leslie's LEAF is worth given he has a new battery. For that matter I'd be curious to know what happened to his old battery.

Not trying to get too far off topic, but people paid somewhere between 38 and 45 new as I understand. We paid 40 new, 4.5 years ago, so 50% loss after 5 years is good.
By comparison a 2012 Tiida Ti is worth about 10k against 25k new (60% loss).
I'm not saying new car depreciation is cheap, just that a Leaf is better than average which surprised me. Benchmark suggested by choice is 14% for first 3 years, then 8% after = 58% after 5 years

There's one for sale in Launceston. It has about 30000 km on the clock and the owner is asking $29k, which I think is a bit much but I'll let the prospective buyer negotiate! Let me know if you would like contact details.

I have a Leaf bought in October 2015 with just gone 3000 km on the clock. I have considered selling and would be interested in what sort of price I might get.

The centre screen has a message about a card. If it's missing its SD card for satnav that would be an expensive exercise to replace.

You can zoom in on the pictures and I noticed the screen on one of them looked unusual.
Speaking of LEAFs for sale, we're now down to 1 car listed on Carsales. I've never seen it so low before.

I'd like to assume it's because more and more people are getting bitten by the EV bug. The Leaf sits perfectly in the sweet spot in terms of trade off between affordability and practicality. In a market with limited choice in mass market EVs, the Leaf is the logical choice. I reckon something like the eGolf would sell quite well here also for the some above mentioned points, but ticks those boxes even better in some people's eyes. Although I wonder how many EV buyers have been put off VW products by Dieselgate.

I think each SD card is keyed to the head unit.

Main problems now are finding one, and then knowing what to do with battery post-warranty. I have a VW Polo TDi 2006 (pre-dieselgate) owned since new. It's a great car, well made, will last for decades. However Volkswagen Australia are pretty much as bad as Nissan Australia - horribly supported and also insanely expensive to service. So I had already decided that I wouldn't buy another VW. And then dieselgate came along... We drove a Kombi around Europe, and have a '75 Super-beetle awaiting restoration, so I really love VWs historically. Think I will go with an EV conversion kit instead

Richard's car, with similar mileage to my 2 1/2 year old car (as in from when I purchased it) is only listed at $19 500. Given the lack of other affordable EV options, it surprises me. My previous car, a Hyundai i30, had dropped to around half of purchase price for resale after 5 years. Maybe it is a matter of battery anxiety...

It went for just $12.95K to someone in Tasmania, such a bargain they got. Below is a screenshot I took just as the auction finished.

That is truly a bargain, they scored a great deal! Hopefully they'll find this forum and become a member.

Actually guys I went back to Pickles site, and the car is up again for auction. Perhaps it didn't meet the reserve. .... That comforts me somehow. Or else, I'm going to curse myself for not bidding!!

Correction, the red one is now gone. 'Carols' Chariot' has been sold by the looks of it.
