Wow, that would be so good. Have you tried out your range at 100% charge yet?

Hi Les, I’ve been reading this thread and the other battery replacement pack thread with interest, as it looks like I’ll be losing four bars sometime before my five year battery warranty is up (24 months away still), and I’m wondering what it might mean. Reading through these threads, it looks like in your case you lost four bars. Your car went into Nissan where they tried to replace various cells, several months went by, they got nowhere. So they changed tack and replaced it with a new battery, ex-USA, with the lizard chemistry. Which from your post earlier today, has had great results! So have I got that all correct? The only thing I don’t understand is that in an earlier post, you said: My battery is out of warranty… So does this mean you paid for the new battery yourself? Or maybe you meant to say your battery is not out of warranty?

Hi,
I have not tried 100% as I normally only do that when travelling on the highway (usually going to the Gold Coast). Been too busy at work since the restructure. But I would like to go to Binna Burra again. That eats a lot of battery.
The battery was replaced out of warranty. I had to pay for the labour. I was a few thousand km over the warranty period. I was never given a reason why Nissan Australia decided to replace it. But I would say the 6 months diagnosis etc played a part. Also I paid $60,000 for the car and it was always serviced at the same dealer (No idea if that had any influence).

I get this as a normal commute in winter (Cleveland to St.Lucia). I have to climb over Alexandra Hills, Chandler and Camp Hill and so the GOM is a little pessimistic when I get to Cleveland. From Home to Work From Work back home

Also that journey used 9.1kWh, measured before the charging station, to fill to 80%.

The fact that Nissan replaced your battery when it was out of warranty seems extraordinary service. You must be a charmer You say it was a few thousand km over the warranty, so does that mean you were within the five year time period?

I find it amusing that the service manual has a page to note replacement battery pack details. There's space for four entries. You would either be doing really badly to need four batteries or absolutely getting your money's worth out of your car to go through so many packs!
