Yippy Yippy today is the day we pick our i3 up in Sydney! Very interested to see how the range will compare to the previous Leaf's we've had.

Wow!... 1 Year and ummm... don't hate on me too much Here are those promised pics.. better late than never. Over the year which has just turned over we haven't had any problems with the car. We've just clocked over 25000 km , no big road trips. It's been to Bathurst and Sydney, mostly all around the Blue Mountains here in NSW. The i3 does have the 90ah battery which easily does 200km on up and downhill 80kmh mountain hill roads. It's exciting to finally hear all the new EV's coming soon to market.

Welcome to the i3 family Yours still has the type 1 CCS inlet I'm guessing? I've just heard back from a friend at BMW here in Brisbane and it seems that they are going to charge the early adopters of the type 1 CCS edition i3's $2616 to retrofit the inlet to type 2 CCS I'm pretty upset by this, as the fast charger at Brisbane BMW has been offline since early January on top of the horrendous service I get from the local service centre near me. Does anyone know someone who has an i3 in NZ? I saw an article online stating that BMW NZ was going to retrofit all the i3's there under warranty and would like to try and speak to someone who may have had this done..

My only reply was a link to an old FB post (you should be able to read it even if you aren't a group member) - www.facebook.com/groups/NZEVOwners/permalink/1950108018589836/If not I've screenshotted the post here:

It doesn't really seem like anyone answers from experience that they have had it converted for free hey? I've tried to join the group to ask some more follow up question but don't know if they will allow me as I'm not an NZ resident. Would it be possible to ask another question (maybe tagging Ross Webster) to 100% confirm that an i3 owner actually had the retrofit done for free? Cheers, D

I don't think Australia will be for free I've been given a price of around the 5500 mark.... I'm not sure what's involved though with the retrofit. For that price it has to be an updated charger (11kw) and everything else that goes with it.

For that price it has to be an updated charger (11kw) and everything else that goes with it. From a few facebook messages to people in NZ who know others who own a i3 with type 1 CCS, it seems that BMW NZ has done the retrofit free of charge. I am just trying to get ahold of someone who 'actually' own a i3 there and had this service done. I would then be hoping to get either a service repair print out showing the $0 cost or their VIN number to use as evidence to BMW AU. I can't see why it would be free in NZ and cost up close to $6000.
