I have spoken with NRMA and the North Strathfield CHAdeMO charger is going to be repaired soon. NRMA are also moving their headquarters to Olympic Park and will be installing a new Tritium Veefil unit there in April. It will have 24/7 access and dedicated EV charging spot.

Well that would be nice. I'm really not clear on the purpose of a fast charger that has been out of action for about 180 years.

For Sydneysiders, the new NRMA fast charger is finally in and working. It is a Veefil CCS and ChadeMo 50kW unit outside the NRMA HQ opposite the Olympic park railway station. Now all we need is a few more in strategic locations around the outskirts of Sydney. But at least one is better then none.....
There is one dedicated charging parking space, which is a little tight and the cables are not quite long enough, as you have to park quite close to it. It seems to work fine, and there is no cost or memberships cards required at the moment. It is also on Plugshare now too.

We also used the new charger today. We mentioned to the NRMA that the cables were a bit short.

Looks good - I'll have to go out there just to try it! I've never fast-charged my car!
But the people who install these things don't seem to get it sometimes. Looking at that spot, if the car behind was badly parked and nosed over the line forcing you to park your Leaf a bit further forward, charging might be impossible with those short cables. I suppose other EVs have their charging ports in different spots, but the solution to that is make the parking space longer than usual.
What do the parking signs say? I can see "1P" but what's written underneath?

Still working on the George Street charger. Ownership is the current hurdle. All parties are happy for a community style sponsorship to restore it and get it running again. I will post more details as I have them.
