Well this week I decided to 'bite the bullet' and take the leaf on a long journey (90km+) that I obviously couldn't get back from without charging somewhere.
I'd tested the AMPfibian at home so now was the time to rely on it. We'd had a holiday house booked nr Philip Island and I assumed that the place would have no 15A socket so the AMPfibian was my only option.
Got there easily with 40km to spare (after a 100% charge) and to others comments I realise how driving it easily extends the range (easily I mean generally sticking to 2 circles on the dash energy meter, or +1 from the standing still).
Plugged the AMPfibian in to the leaf - and after a good while (probably about a third slower than at home with the charge point) it was fully juiced.
I gotta love the thought that as long as I have the AMP fibian in the back I'm good to go anywhere ....

Good to see someone put this system to the test at a holiday home. May not be so practical if staying at a motel, as unable to guarantee the circuit won't be overloaded.

This is why forums are great. I didn't realise there was an adaptor like the AMP fibian. This could come in handy. Have placed my order.

I use mine almost daily at my work place. I got the RV-PLUS. I thought I might need a waterproof version sometime. I'm planning on plugging into an outlet in the carpark at work. I tried using it the other day and realised that my Leaf charger didn't fit. Came to this forum and found this thread. Voila! 10A to 15A adaptor ... Nice.

With an extension I presume? Yours is the original ampfibian phoebe? I don't like the new ampfibian max metal plate. But I do like the rectangular cable lock design.
Will wait till Bunnings gets the Rv-plus in.

I bought mine 3 years ago, and squeezed it in without an extension. If I need to use it again I will get an extension - much safer.
