Any takers for a South East Queensland meetup?
I am based near Beaudesert which is within an easy drive (in a LEAF) from Brisbane or the Gold Coast. Sunshine Coasters could do a fast charge at Tritium or BMW. A meeting at the Beaudesert Showgrounds camping area would provide 15A power points for a recharge for a return trip after a day out in the area. I am sure we could arrange BBQ facilities for a long lunch.
Or I can travel to Brisbane, the Gold Coast or the Sunshine Coast.
Any starters?

I am off for Christmas, but could do something in January. Beaudesert sounds nice, haven't gone past Jimboomba in many years.

I'd be up for it in December. I've made it to Beausdesert and back to Springwood on a single charge for my son's soccer carnival earlier this year. Lovely back roads drive.... great for practicing high efficiency driving. Will be putting my Leaf on the train to Perth in the last week of December so has to be before then.

See how we go, flat out making Brisbane with no AC now. Need a Caboolture chargepoint.. We could meet at Tritium. That is always an interesting visit. I will be dropping in there for a chat in a few days time. As for fast charging network for SE Qld, Caboolture and Nambour are good. Could you do that at highway speeds? You are a good subject for my thinking about DCFC as I feel the first line of attack is a fast charger 70(ish)kms from the major population centres. There is a lot of talk of what percentage of trips are within an 80% charge of home. The rest is considered to be "long" trips. I disagree. Of all the trips outside of a full charge (say 50kms), most would be "day" trips. For the population centre of (say) Brisbane, this would be trips to the Gold Coast or the Sunshine Coast. Or somewhere in between or somewhere within 50kms of the fast charger at the Sunshine or Gold coast. Most of the EVs are in the most populous areas:-). But those EVs do most of their trips with charging at home. Fast chargers are best placed for those "not so long" trips within one fast charging station several to many times per year. Leave Brisbane at 7am Sunday, fast charge at Caboolture at 8am to 8.30 and arrive at Nambour at 9.30am. Fast charge at Nambour for anywhere on the Sunshine Coast. Place the DCFC at a roadside stop with eating facilities and have "dinner" on the way back. The Bruce Highway traffic numbers tell us that that is where people want to go.

You makes your plans then life comes along.
I just got news that I am off to Western Australia for several months. Fly out on Friday 18th.
So, if we can put something together before then I will be in it.
The Beaudesert Show Society wanted me to show Public Liability Insurance for "the group". After several emails I decided it was not worth it. I will approach the local caravan park and other places for sometime in the future. Canungra is nice:-). Don't think we should attempt Mount Tambourine as nice as it is for a day trip.
I will be in Brisbane (at Tritium) Monday or Tuesday (yet to be decided) so we could fit in with that. I can be there or thereabouts during or after business hours.
Or somewhere SE Qld between now and Friday 18th.
