They're perfect! A snug fit over the whole section. Not just inside the strut top, like the Nissan ones do. I put a bit of gutter silicone to seal against the L & R sides, where it makes the most contact, but it probably didn't even need that. I ordered on eBay, but a local VW Stealership can most likely order them in as well. VW Part# 17141235901C Attachments:

Guess what I found in my lid drawer today 👿 : My guess is that these are no longer made, replaced by the 700 g jars with the smaller lids. I measure 80.5 mm inside (including thread), and around 83 mm excluding the thread. I found it too tight keeping the thread on, so I ground some off. I need to get some rust converter before I fit the grease and lid. Edit: I'm a pretty bad hoarder, and every now and then (like today), it turns out to be really useful. So I'll never be cured Edit 2: I've just realised why they discontinued this product: they wrote "1 Kelvin gram" on the lid! They thought they'd never live it down! And with the smaller size (< 1kg), they won't be tempted to make the same mistake again. (/SI nazi mode)

Nice find! Yes, I think they don't sell the larger size anymore (at least in the big supermarkets).
Hoarding does sometimes turn out to be useful 😅. I have a 10 year rule. But even then I've thrown something out after not needing it for 10 years, and could've used it in year 11.
That misprint is funny - I'm not sure I would've spotted that.

Here it is after rust converting, greasing, and installing the cap. A little incongruous with the green against the blue.

Those green GV fruit container lids look exactly the same as my enzyme lids that I put on my Leaf about 3 years ago. Just days before I sold it, I had a strange rattle that appeared to come from behind the glove box. I really didn't feel like pulling the dash apart to try and find it. It turns out the left lid had unscrewed itself, which isn't too surprising considering our corrugated roads. Easy fix.

Those green GV fruit container lids look exactly the same as my enzyme lids... Ah! Like the ones below. More expensive than peaches, but good if you have leaky gut. I actually have a jar like this nearly empty. It also measures 87 mm across, so I'd say it would do the job as well. Also a product called CalmX (nutritionist prescription required). Same sized lid. Or Netra Organics "Collagen body". Looks like it's a common size of lid for supplements' jars; I just wasn't thinking of supplements.
