I know this forum doesn't exactly have a for sales section but I’m now selling private 7kW home chargers. I have 2 different models the aeroviroment EVSE-RS and the elektrobay 250 compact. if you want a demo their is a aeroviroment installed at shelly beach the closest elektrobay is currently installed is in new zealand. both still require a licensed electrician which I’m not. so unfortunately can't give you a fully installed cost. for more information visit my website rechargingnsw.com.au/products/ .

Gabzi, not sure what is the point in a 7kW EVSE... All our Leafs can only charge at 3.3kW anyway. Maybe when the new model comes out here, owners of those vehicles may be able to make use of it.

Your right the only car that can make full use of it will the bmw i3. but they are the same cost as a 3.7kW unit, so furture proofing is one reason. and there is nothing wrong with running something rated for 7kW at 3.3kW.

the odd thing is that when I tried a 16A 3.3kW wall box with the volt, it would only negotiate a 10A charge max hence I'm currently running a 32A 7kW wall box with the volt, which negotiates a 15A charge.
another interesting thing is that the card version of the 3.3kW wallbox negotiates a 15A charge. go figure.
will be interesting to see what happens with Marty's volt n Gabz's Aerovironment callbox.
one way of telling that the volt is charging at 15 amps is that the time to end charge cannot be changed when toggling between 6A and 10A on the touch screen.

Hi I am interested in 2 for indoor usage. Its not meant for Project Atlas, that one has to be cheap, robust and outdoor.
May I ask why its just US$799 on amazon US website and your list price online is US$1414?
I am not saying its expensive, just curious about your pricing strategy. If it really is the BEST CHOICE for my needs, I am happy to buy two from you before year end.

without giving away too much the extra costs are shipping, 5% duty and customs charges and 10% GST then currency conversion. as well as Australian certification.
the main reason is quantity because sales numbers are so low they are imported on demand so shipping is quite high.
If we sold quantity in this country they would be a lot cheaper.

Thanks got you! Are you familiar with the BMW wall charger. Besides design differences, any known issues with that?
Also, if I buy yours, how much is shipping to Gold Coast for 2 units and how much normally electrician charge for such a work?
Thanks. Last but not least, so far any feedbacks from your existing customers? The good, bad and ugly?

Less helpful this time:
Don't know anything about the BMW wallbox except it is J1772. the bmw website had the wrong UK information on it for ages. did bmw give you a price ?
have to get back you on shipping costs, and I’ve found electricians cost varies wildly, they basically need to run a new cable from your electrical distribution board where your meter and circuit breakers are to where you want the EVSE. cost more the longer the distance etc how hard it is to do etc.. really had to estimate.
if your looking for a larger amount of feedback you would have to look at USA websites where there are more of these installed. I have 1 unit installed in the central coast, NSW. but that's about it.

Well it looks like Nissan in the USA are handing them out for free insideevs.com/nissan-leaf-level-2-charger-giveaway/ can't compete with that pricing at all.
