I went for Sunday lunch at the Tramsheds in Glebe (NSW), and parked in the (relatively new) EV parking spots in the car park. One was iced but the other was free (the final remaining spot in the car park). The LEAF could use a bit of juice (down to 45 km) so I thought why not. There are two Tesla HPWCs there and a Schneider EV link with one Mennekes and one J-1772 charge cord plugged in to the sides. There were no instructions on the unit. I first waved my ChargePoint card over the front and nothing happened so I assume it's not Chargepoint and free to use. I plugged in the LEAF and pressed the green button on the side, things seemed to start happening with the blue lights on the LEAF lighting up and the clunk noise it makes before starting to charge happened. But then nothing further happened. The charge lights on the LEAF cycled 1-2-3 which according to the user manual say that the car is plugged in but the timer is active, so charging hasn't started yet. The timer was active but the time window for charging was current so it should have just started charging. I pressed the cancel timer button on the dash - nothing. I even used the App on my phone to tell it to start charging - nothing. I noticed the green light on the front of the EVlink on the right hand side had turned red. A fault of some kind? I texted the phone number on the box - no reply, not even today. Anyway I went off to lunch enjoying my prime parking spot. At least I tried to charge.

I had problems with one of those units the other week. It was like it started charging for two seconds and stops. I tried various things and in the end, pulling out the Mennekes plug and plugging it back in got it working. Something to try for next time.

Thanks Feng... I did actually think I should have tried that, but only after I left. Did you plug and unplug the Mennekes end while the unit was "on" or did you hit the stop button first?
I will try that next time.

I will try that next time. Here in WA, those units that use Mennekes (non Schneider tho'), has following instruction: 1. Tap card (maybe not applicable for you guys); 2. Plug in car side first, make sure no timer is active, although it's within timer window (J1772); 3. Plug in charger side (Mennekes); Which explains the unplug and replug Mennekes would work.

Did you plug and unplug the Mennekes end while the unit was "on" or did you hit the stop button first? I can't remember exactly, I think I unplugged it, plugged it back in, then hit the green button. If that doesn't work you can try the green button first. The unit had plugs on either side and both did the same thing. So fiddly!

The Synergy branded Schneiders in Perth don't require cards ... yet.
non card mode start charging: 1. plug in car 2. press Green button 3. WAIT for flap to unlock and LED to flash 4. plug into bollard
stop charging: 1. press red button 2. WAIT for LED to flash 3. unplug bollard 4. unplug car
for card mode - untested start charging: 1. plug in car 2. tap card, press Green button 3. WAIT for flap to unlock and LED to flash 4. plug into bollard
stop charging: 1. tap card, press red button 2. WAIT for LED to flash 3. unplug bollard 4. unplug car
In Perth, it is BYO cables. So perhaps for the Glebe units, the type 2 bollard connector needs to be un/plugged?

I finally used a charger at Broadway shopping centre on the weekend. There are 3 spots for non-Tesla EVs, two of them were taken - believe it or not by cars that were actually plugged in (a BMW i3 and a BMW X5 PHEV). The units there are Schneider EVlink chargers just like at the Glebe Tramsheds. Remebering the suggestions above, I plugged in the J-1772 end first and then unplugged and plugged in the Mennekes end at the charger second before hitting the green button. That worked.
When I arrived there were no Teslas charging. When I left there were three, plus a Model X in front of me leaving!
