After losing my first bar at 4000km, I've now lost my second bar at 15000km. Compared to others, I seem to have been a bit unlucky. At this rate, I'll be getting a warranty replacement battery between the 30000km and 40000km mark.
In other news, I did my first 100km+ drive on the weekend with a fully loaded car. My wife was very unhappy when I said that I wanted to use the Leaf for our visit to a friend's place. They live 55km away and the last time we made the trip in the Leaf my wife suffered serious range anxiety and ended up plugging into the friend's power supply for a top-up. This time, however, I wanted to drive there and back without recharging. The guessometer showed 115km range at full charge. The route was mostly highway driving between 80-100km/h. Had the whole family in the car (2 adults, 3 kids) plus a boot full of stuff for the sleepover. Drove with the A/C on and arrived at our destination with 60km of range remaining. Drove home the next day, again with the A/C on and got home with 7km remaining on the guessometer after having travelled a total 115km. My wife is now more confident about taking the car on longer trips.

.... Drove home the next day, again with the A/C on and got home with 7km remaining on the guessometer after having travelled a total 115km. ... What was your kWh/km figure for the whole trip? No bars left when you arrived home? My Leaf also has 2 bars gone, but with mostly highway, I'll be pushing it to get 115km. So, looks like your battery condition is probably better than your GOM (Guess-O-Meter) thinks. Maybe (my wild theory here), due to not much usage, your GOM is not that accurate. What I've found helpful, is to find my available kWh available in my 'tank', so I can plan long trip reliably. In my case, I have run an experiment from fully charged to no bars left (but not yet turtle). I reset my average trip indicator at the beginning of the trip (with fully charged), and at the end of the trip I ended up with no bar left (let say after travelling 100km and the dash said 0.13kWh/km). From this, then I know my tank is at least 13kWh (0.13 * 100). So, next time I want to do long trip, let say strong head wind with estimate of 0.16kWh/km, then I know I only can travel 80km (to the same point of empty charge, but not yet turtle). And who knows, your GOM is probably still in the learning mode due to your infrequent use. I've found mine fluctuates (data taken from LeafSpy): Attachments:

Rusdy, wow you have been keeping a lot of data on your car. I don't use leafspy much, but I recall doing some quick calcs a few months ago. IIRC I had about 16kWh of usable battery capacity. Also, I haven't reset the average since I bought it. Currently showing 0.15 kWh / km.

At 115km return trip and 7km remaining, and my guess of 0.14kWh/km (only for that particular trip), sounds like you have close to 17kWh usable at your 'tank'. Hence, I'm surprised why you already lost 2 bars. Usually, for a figure like yours (16-17kWh usable), the SoH would be around 80-ish% (which is only a bar lost). I'm suspicious your Leaf's computer is underestimating the SoH.

Getting very limited on range now.. When I got the Leaf it would show 165km range, 188km ECO. Now 97km range, 113km ECO That is 59%, not the 70% indicated on the bars. Seriously not good enough, still under 5 years, just. 40494km

Seriously not good enough, still under 5 years, just. 40494km That's not good. We've lost 2 bars but usually get 100-110 km on 80% charge, +10% on eco. We have only just clocked over 30,000km, the third anniversary was 2 weeks ago. Our average economy is around 130 to 140 Wh/km. And as you can see from my Avatar, we used to get 120-130 km on an 80% charge (150-160 km on 100% charge) when the car was "new" (in reality 2 years old). The highest I ever saw the GOM show on 100% charge when the car was new was 176 km. We will be touch-and-go as to whether we will lose the 4th bar before our 5 years is up (in 2 years time) and be eligible for battery replacement.

Today I lost my third bar at 58 500km, after 2 3/4 years of ownership. I'm roughly losing a bar every 20 000 km, so think it is highly likely that I'll lose the 4th bar before the warranty runs out. I've been noticing over recent weeks a reduction in range, so wasn't surprised. Think my range now is 85-90km, and even when "new", we didn't get more than 100-105km range on full charge, so I've always wondered whether the battery deteriorated during storage.
Anyways, happy to think that I'll probably manage to get a new battery under warranty when the fourth bar goes, as with running around doing errands, there are days when I can't do everything that I want to do in the Leaf, and have to switch cars or do slow top-ups.
